Now that Molten Dusk is out on the world, you might be wondering what's coming next, so here are some quick updates:
1. Quest of Thunder (Stormbourne Chronicles; Book 2) will be out sometime this fall. The publisher and I talked and decided to push back its release because I've been so busy with Brave New Girls, Love Murder and Mayhem, and Molten Dusk this summer and I wanted a moment to breathe before I focus on putting out another book. But it's done, edited, polished, and ready for release soon. (Then I have to start writing book 3. 😱)
2. I'm nearing the end of an new Paranormal Romance that is running way over word count and way behind schedule. But I'm close to the ending and hope to have it done and sent to it's second Beta reader by the end of the month. I'll have to find a home for it after that, but for now, I thought I'd share a teaser from the first chapter just to give you a taste of what I've been doing:
**Tentatively titled: Touch of Smoke**
The day I left Evansville, I twisted my rear-view mirror until it reflected the ceiling of my daddy’s ’61 Apache and not the road behind me. Refusing to look back, I set my sights on the yellow lines winding down the middle of Highway 19 and followed them out of the Smoky Mountains like I was Dorothy trailing the yellow brick road to Emerald City. Only, once I got there, I wouldn’t click my heels and whisper spells to carry me home again.
I’d sworn I would never go back to Evansville and its misty gray mountains. Those insidious valleys and hollows attracted secrets and held them in confidence until they festered and infected everyone and everything. And I’d sure as hell never go back to Owen Amir. If deceit were a contagious disease, then he’d been ground zero.
